Job Overview:
As the Non-Profit Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial management of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the efficient operation of our financial systems. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and non-profit regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
Audit and Compliance: Oversee and coordinate annual audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations. Manage relationships with auditors and regulatory agencies.
Accounting Operations: Supervise and enhance day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management and internal controls. Update policies as needed to reflect changes in regulations or best practices.
Grant Management: Oversee financial aspects of grant management, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports for grant funders, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure professional development and operational efficiency.
