Ledgent Technology is seeking a skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator on behalf of our client in Plantation, Florida. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with the possibility of ongoing extensions.Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive DBA support across various environments, from Development to Production, catering to the needs of both internal and external clients.Troubleshoot and resolve urgent production database issues in a timely manner.Contribute to the design, deployment, and support of database infrastructure, ensuring reliability, robustness, and security to meet both current and future business demands.Ensure that technology and security controls are properly designed and implemented to meet compliance and regulatory requirements, while optimizing database platforms for performance and cost-efficiency.Assist in setting company-wide database standards and best practices.Foster cross-team collaboration and remove obstacles to ensure effective teamwork.Establish and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives and key results (OKRs), service level agreements (SLAs), and metrics to monitor and enhance operational performance.Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes.Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator.Proficiency in managing SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.Strong background in performance troubleshooting and monitoring within production environments using High Availability solutions.Experience with Windows Server platforms, specifically in relation to SQL installations and upgrades.Expertise in implementing and maintaining SQL Server, including security protocols, backup/restoration procedures, logging, reporting, and recovery strategies.Proficient in tuning SQL queries for enhanced database performance.Skilled in developing stored procedures, views, functions, tables, jobs, DML scripts, and other database scripts.Strong communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration across global teams.Self-driven with the ability to pick up new tasks independently and resolve tickets with minimal supervision.A team-oriented attitude with a commitment to achieving shared goals.High attention to detail with a focus on thorough validation of work to ensure successful deployments.Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes.Capable of performing under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.Adept at documenting work in user stories and tickets, and creating knowledgebase articles for technical documentation.Education/Certifications:This position offers a challenging and dynamic work environment, ideal for a dedicated and skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator looking to make a significant impact.
