Professional Healthcare Representatives (Vaccines)
As a member of the Pfizer Vaccines Market Access Team, the Vaccines Health IT Specialist will work with Priority Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Hospitals, Medical Groups and Retail Pharmacy and Clinics. to help harness their Health IT systems to overcome barriers to adult, adolescent and pediatric immunization. Relevant functionalities include clinical decision support consistent with evidence-based guidelines (e.g., alerts, hard edits, screeners and order sets), standing orders/protocol orders, patient outreach and education (e.g. patient portals and reminders), bi-directional data sharing (e.g. interface with immunization registries or other data exchange entities), and measurement/reporting tools. In addition to helping customers understand the value of optimizing vaccination workflows, the Health IT Specialist will also help customers leverage EHRs to support population health and quality initiatives directly or indirectly tied to immunization.
*The ideal candidate should be able to travel to HQ (New York/Collegeville, PA) and customer facilities as needed for team / customer engagements
Serve as the subject matter expert for Pfizer Vaccines Account Managers, Market Access team, and broader Vaccines sales and marketing community to help them understand the application of appropriate Health IT strategies and deliver targeted outcomes through the use of Health IT resources (e.g. attend customer meetings, lead best practice forums, proactively engage Vaccines Account Managers and Account Specialists to discuss barriers and opportunities, etc.)
Liaise directly with Pfizer Vaccines Account Managers, Vaccines Account Specialists, Vaccines Pharmacy Team and customer representatives (i.e., CIO, CMIO, Quality Director) to conduct on-site “current state” workflow assessments and recommend potential Health IT solutions
Support the design, implementation, and measurement of Health IT solutions for Health IT collaborations between Pfizer and Vaccines customers
Contribute to the portfolio HIT strategy for Pfizer Vaccines and consult on the development of Review Committee -approved, scalable, EHR/EMR enabled tools and resources to overcome barriers to vaccination
Liaise across Pfizer BUs for Health IT related issues and inform overall Pfizer Health IT strategy based on Health IT landscape
Attend and share relevant insights from major Health IT conferences and Pfizer Health IT summits
~50% travel (internal meetings and customer engagements)
BA/BS degree required
This is a field based position. Valid US driver’s license and a driving record in compliance with company standards
Significant experience in ’ EMR system experience or related experience in the functional and technical application of health information technology required
An understanding of the impact of payment reform programs (e.g. MACRA) on the healthcare environment and the relevance of HIT in the transition to value-based payment models
An understanding of the Health IT landscape including inter-relationships of rethe players within the Health IT space – EHR vendors, third-party data sources, etc.
Experience implementing EMR/EHR applications across multiple channels and e-platforms (e.g., IDNs, Hospitals, Retail Pharmacy and Clinics etc.)
Hands-on experience with top EHRs and HIT platforms (e.g., Epic, Allscripts, eClinicalWorks,Cerner etc.)
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills are necessary to manage diverse needs, meet deadlines and monitor and evaluate results
Excellent presentation skills required
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Advanced degree in a Health IT-related field
Vaccines experience preferred
