Department of Marketing
The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at The University of Texas at San Antonio seeks applicants for one tenure-track position beginning Fall 2018. The rank for this position is Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to candidates with specializations in (1) Consumer Behavior, (2) Marketing Analytics, or (3) Strategy/Quantitative Modeling; and to candidates who can teach in both Marketing and Data Analytics programs. Successful applicants must demonstrate high-quality scholarly research and publications and the ability to teach undergraduate, masterís and/or Ph.D. courses in marketing while also mentoring doctoral students.
(1) Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely-related discipline such as psychology or economics or ABD with a reasonable expectation of completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. degree by July 2018, (2) strong potential to conduct high-quality scholarly research or a record of high-quality scholarly research, (3) potential for effective teaching and (4) the ability and desire to work collegially with faculty and doctoral students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
UTSAís Department of Marketing
The department consists of nine tenured and tenure-track faculty members and offers undergraduate, masterís and doctoral degrees with a concentration in marketing. Our faculty members are publishing in the leading journals in the field of marketing. The Marketing Department has been consistently ranked among the top 100 programs by UT-Dallas in terms of publications, and is currently ranked 39th in the nation for the 2016-2017 ranking. Our doctoral students have been placed at the University of Arkansas, University of Cincinnati and University of Victoria with publications in JCR, JM, JAMS, JR, and JCP.
Our department has a strong research focus, in line with UTSAís objective of becoming a Tier One research university. We offer an environment that supports faculty research. Research active faculty members generally have a 2/2 teaching load. Tenure-track assistant professors currently teach 3 courses per year.

The College of Business at UTSA is one of the largest business schools in the nation, is AACSB accredited, offers a variety of masterís programs as well as Ph.D. programs in six areas, and ranks second in the nation in the number of bachelorís degrees awarded to Hispanics. UTSA is a comprehensive public metropolitan university that serves approximately 30,000 students on three campuses in San Antonio. It has the express goal of reaching Tier One research status. It is located at the edge of the scenic Texas Hill Country and offers the amenities of a major multicultural, metropolitan area. With a population of over 2.2 million in the metro area, San Antonio is within a few hoursí drive of Austin, Dallas, Houston, the Gulf of Mexico and the Mexican border.
