Job Description
Working with the Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, Industry Marketing, and supporting groups within Sage, the Industry Product Marketing Manager is responsible for providing industry thought leadership, messaging, and sales materials specifically for the U.S. market. The Industry PMM is the trusted advisor to the sales team and supports in-person and virtual customer and prospect engagements. He/she demonstrates Sage’s knowledge of the challenges facing the industry and helps prospects to uncover transformational and business process performance improvements leveraging Sage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Leverage existing industry and product marketing collateral to develop regional and customer-specific messaging, positioning, and tools that provide a compelling and differentiated vision.
• Participate in Sales and Partner training to ensure their deep understanding of key messages. Such tools may include presentations, competitive insight, market research, and co-innovation projects.
• Research and lead customer engagements to assess business objectives, innovation scenarios, key improvement opportunities, and other sources of significant economic value.
• Provide internal industry insight as it relates to product development and partner recruitment.
• Partner with sales to identify new sales growth opportunities for the sub-industries, develop account strategies, and execute sales plays.
• Continual monitoring of service industries trends and challenges to help Sage and our customers be more responsive.
• Partner with marketing in the development and execution of industry demand generation activities
• Provide external thought leadership including speaker at events and participating in Public Relations (PR) and Analyst Relations (AR) activities.
Qualifications:
• Deep industry domain experience (minimum of 10 years) in the Service Industries. Sub-industries of priority are financial services, professional services, and healthcare.
• Understand the unique challenges in the industry and the role technology can play to address them
• Innovative, analytical and detail-oriented
• Skilled presenter and consultant in a small and large setting that can build trust with an audience.
• Experience in core ERP solutions and complementary enterprise software solutions.
• Proven track record in crafting compelling positioning and thought leadership content.
• Experience marketing complex and emerging technology including cloud-based solutions.
• Strong communication and writing skills and ability to work across business lines, presenting to executive leadership and at different levels of management.
• Exceptional team player with proven ability to lead through influence.
Technical / professional qualifications:
• ERP and/or Enterprise Software experience
• Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent experience is required (MBA a plus)
