Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the foreman and assistant foreman of the Carpenter shop, the candidate will perform specific and general carpentry work in the alteration, remodeling and repair of buildings. Including but not limited to, floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, stairs, doors & windows and any other building-related structures. Knowledge of laying out partitions in wood and metal studs, soffit assemblies, a strong knowledge of ceiling systems, vinyl and ceramic wall and floor tiles, Roofing systems, including EPDM, asphalt and slate installations and repairs, knowledge of flashings, such as roof, through-wall, window & door and chimney, gutters and downspouts. Hanging and repairing drywall, including hole patching and repair, and performance of all drywall related duties. Must have knowledge of door and window installations. Must have some experience maintaining and repairing card access doors and Installation of door closures and all types of finish hardware, Window repairs and glass replacement. Must be able to fabricate countertops & cabinets, install cabinets and countertops. Must be able to build sheds, ramps and temp stairs, repair porches, roofs, decks, clean gutters, and have no fear of heights and will be required to work on ladders and operate aerial lifts, must have some lock experience. Must have masonry experience and possess the ability to repair brick and block work such as pointing and cement finishing. Will be able to assist other trades as necessary, Must be able to follow directions and have great communication skills.
Requirements
*Must possess excellent communication skills
*Must be able to work well independently and in group settings
*Must be able to assist other trades as necessary
*Must have Five years of current full-time working experience as a Journeyman Carpenter
*Must have High School /Vocational diploma and maintain a current drivers' license.
*Must have the ability to read and understand plans, specifications estimates and be able to fill out and follow work orders and time sheets
*Candidate must have some locksmith experience
*Must have understanding and experience with all carpentry related hand and power tools
Preferred:
*Prefer candidate to have builders license and knowledge of building codes
